DIA impacts and changes the lives of each and every child it touches. Your support is needed to make sure that each year, DIA can send its children back to school. DIA believes that the only tool to eradicate illiteracy and improve lives of children in need is through education. DIA makes sure that the funds raised are used for the cause. We not only sponsor education but visit the children every year, have access to their progress reports and meet with children on a personal level. Since our inception in 2010, we started with a single family of four and as of 2017, we have sponsored more than six hundred children.$901.00 donated of $30,000.00 goal
DIA collaborated with Shakti and supported education of children since 2015. Shakti is a non-sectarian, non-political and non-discriminatory organization dedicated to empowering under-privileged girls so that they can lead a wholesome, dignified life with financial independence and actuate their inherent potential. Since its inception in 1999, Shakti has been empowering under-privileged girls by giving them scholarships to complete their education up to 12th standard. These girls are the daughters of handicapped parents, war martyrs, divorcee and widows, who are not able to afford their education. In certain cases the financial aid is extended to help those who want to pursue higher education or a professional career. Further through its vocational training institutes called Shakti Udaan, Shakti has also been offering learning opportunities to girls from deprived families so as to make them self-reliant and independent. They get hands on activity to experience how fortunate they are, and together they can make a difference in the lives of other. Some of the success stories
Today Sagar, earns more than both his parentsSince 2012, DIA sponsored education for the family of four. Sagar, Bharat, Rohan, and Naina. They have been attending school successfully since the last five years. The eldest of the four, Sagar graduated from school and started working at Dominos. He earned Rupees 10K monthly, which is a combined monthly salary of his parents. The last time, DIA director met Sagar in Karachi, he bought her a pizza from Dominos where he is a full time employee, as a token of thank you for sponsoring his education.
Latest news – DIA delivered 557 snacks for Children in Need
This Christmas DIA packed 557 snacks and bags of a dozen apple to be distributed amongst children who participate in the free and reduced price school lunch program.
Many children who receive the meals are left without adequate nutrition on weekends and holiday breaks. The snack packs will be distributed to children at risk of weekend hunger. This opportunity was possible in Collaboration with Center for food action.
